Lucy, The 1920’s Themed Eco Cabin

Starcroft Farm Cabins

Tucked into the meadows near Battle, Starcroft Farm’s cabins are designed as creative retreats - spaces where history, heritage, and imagination come together. Each cabin is inspired by a local woman of the past, weaving stories into the setting for guests to step into.

Lucy Cabin

Lucy Cabin takes its name from Lucy Webster, heiress to the Battle Abbey Estate in the 1920s. Known for her unconventional spirit — from wild escapades in Battle High Street to her love of tennis, travel, and rebellion against expectations — Lucy lived a life both free-spirited and troubled.

Inside, details like a 1920s tennis racket, a purple ink pot (a nod to Virginia Woolf), and reclaimed period pieces bring her story to life. Bookshelves, props, and writing retreats encourage guests to dream, create, and explore Sussex’s cultural roots — from the 1066 Country Walk to Bloomsbury gardens.

More than a place to stay, Lucy Cabin is a bridge between past and present, inspiring guests to make stories of their own.
