Hunter Gather Cook

In the woodlands of East Sussex, Hunter Gather Cook brings the ancient art of foraging, hunting, and outdoor cooking to life. Founded in 2011 by Nick Weston, the school is set at Shepherds Barn on the Firle Estate - an 1820s threshing barn turned off-grid kitchen.

Here, guests learn seasonal game butchery, wild foraging, and fire-led cooking, using clay ovens, smokers, and open flames. Signature events range from the immersive Deer in a Day course to seasonal long-table banquets. Always hands-on, always rooted in nature, Hunter Gather Cook is a wild, unforgettable way to taste the English countryside.
