Sussex Stories – Membership Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions outline the agreement between Sussex Stories (“we”, “us”, “our”) and the subscribing business or individual (“you”, “your”).
By joining Sussex Stories, you agree to the following:
1. What Your Membership Includes
Your Sussex Stories membership currently provides:
1.1 A Sussex Stories Listing
One map pin on the Sussex Stories digital map
A click-out link to either your website or your social media (one link only)
Appearance within the relevant category on the map
A feature page can be created if you are able to provide suitable imagery and information. Please see section 1.2 for details.
1.2 Optional Feature Page
You may have a feature page on the Sussex Stories website, provided you supply suitable imagery.
This page is editorial in style, not a paid advertisement.
1.3 Optional Photography Add-On
We offer a photography upgrade:
3 professionally shot images for £100.
This is optional and booked separately.
1.4 No Guaranteed Editorial
Membership does not include guaranteed social media posts, articles, features, or promotional coverage outside of your listing.
2. Membership Fee
Membership is £35.99 per month.
Payment is managed via Stripe and billed automatically each month.
Pricing may change in future. If it does, you will be notified in advance.
We are not currently VAT registered. You will be informed in advance if this changes.
3. Payments & Billing
Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled.
Payments are taken via the card you provide at checkout.
It is your responsibility to ensure your billing information is up to date.
If a payment fails, you will be prompted to update your card details. Continued failure to make payment may result in temporary suspension of your listing.
There is an initial 3-month commitment, after which your membership continues on a rolling monthly basis.
4. Cancellation Policy
You can cancel your membership at any time by contacting us directly.
Cancellations apply to future billing cycles — we do not offer refunds for part-used months.
Your listing will remain live until the end of your paid billing period.
Cancellations must be submitted at least 10 working days before your next billing date to ensure you are not charged for the following month.
5. Imagery & Content
5.1 If You Provide Images
You confirm you own the rights to the images you send us and give us permission to use them on Sussex Stories.
5.2 If We Photograph You
Images taken by Sussex Stories remain our copyright; however, you may use them freely for your own marketing upon request. Please credit Sussex Stories wherever reasonably possible.
5.3 Image Suitability
We reserve the right to decline imagery that does not align with the Sussex Stories aesthetic or quality standards.
6. Content Changes & Updates
You may request small text or image updates to your listing.
Larger updates (e.g., new brand photos, menu changes, complete rewrites) may incur a small admin fee.
Feature page updates are at our discretion.
It is your responsibility to notify us promptly of any important business changes (such as a new address, ownership, or name) so we can keep your listing accurate and maintain the integrity of the guide.
7. Removal of Listings
We reserve the right to remove or refuse listings if:
imagery or content doesn’t meet our standards
the business becomes inactive or closes
the brand no longer aligns with our values or categories
payments fail and are not resolved
We will always communicate clearly before any removal.
8. Disclaimer
Sussex Stories:
does not guarantee traffic, sales, or exposure
is not responsible for errors caused by incorrect information supplied by you
may update the platform, categories, features, or design at any time
Your membership is for ongoing listing presence, not guaranteed promotion.
