Sussex Stories – Membership Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions outline the agreement between Sussex Stories (“we”, “us”, “our”) and the subscribing business or individual (“you”, “your”).

By subscribing to a Sussex Stories Map Membership, you agree to the following:

1. What Your Membership Includes

1.1 Sussex Stories Map Membership

The Sussex Stories Map Membership is £35.99 per month and includes:

  • A permanent pin on the Sussex Stories digital map

  • Placement within relevant category tags

  • A dedicated listing page on the Sussex Stories website, also discoverable via our Places page

  • A curated selection of images

  • A short written description of your business

  • Direct links to:

    • your website

    • your primary social media account

Listings are designed to support long-term discovery rather than short-term promotion.

1.2 Listing Curation & Presentation

All listings are curated by Sussex Stories to maintain a consistent visual and editorial standard.

We reserve the right to:

  • select which images are featured

  • lightly edit submitted copy for clarity or consistency

  • decline imagery or content that does not meet platform standards

1.3 Photography Add-On (Optional)

Professional photography can be booked as an optional add-on:

  • 4 professionally shot images for £100

This is booked separately and subject to availability.

1.4 No Guaranteed Editorial or Promotion

Map Membership does not include guaranteed:

  • social media posts

  • editorial articles

  • features

  • promotional campaigns

Any additional coverage is entirely at Sussex Stories’ editorial discretion.

2. Membership Fee

  • Membership is £35.99 per month

  • Payments are managed via Stripe and billed automatically

  • We are not currently VAT registered. If this changes, you will be notified in advance

  • Pricing may change in the future with reasonable notice

3. Payments & Billing

  • Membership renews automatically each month until cancelled

  • Payments are taken using the card provided at checkout

  • You are responsible for keeping billing details up to date

If a payment fails:

  • you will be notified and asked to update your details

  • unresolved failures may result in temporary suspension of your listing

There is an initial 3-month commitment, after which the membership continues on a rolling monthly basis.

4. Cancellation Policy

  • You may cancel your membership at any time by contacting us directly

  • Cancellations apply to future billing cycles only

  • We do not offer refunds for part-used months

  • Your listing will remain live until the end of your current paid period

  • Cancellations must be received at least 10 working days before your next billing date

5. Imagery & Content Rights

5.1 Client-Provided Content

You confirm that you own the rights to any images or content you submit and grant Sussex Stories permission to use them across the platform.

5.2 Sussex Stories Photography

Images captured by Sussex Stories remain our copyright.
You may request permission to use them for your own marketing; attribution is appreciated where reasonably possible.

6. Updates & Changes

  • Minor updates (e.g. text tweaks or image swaps) can be requested

  • Larger changes (e.g. full rewrites, rebrands, major updates) may incur an admin fee

  • It is your responsibility to notify us promptly of any significant business changes

7. Removal of Listings

We reserve the right to suspend or remove listings if:

  • content or imagery no longer meets platform standards

  • the business becomes inactive or closes

  • payments remain unresolved

  • the brand no longer aligns with Sussex Stories’ scope or values

We will always communicate clearly before taking action.

8. Disclaimer

Sussex Stories:

  • does not guarantee traffic, sales, or exposure

  • is not responsible for inaccuracies supplied by you

  • may evolve the platform, categories, or features over time

Membership provides ongoing visibility, not guaranteed promotion.
