Lewes Bonfire Night

Lewes Bonfire Night, held each November 5th, is the UK’s most dramatic and historic celebration of its kind. More than a Guy Fawkes commemoration, it reflects centuries of political and local tradition.

Bonfire societies parade through the streets with flaming torches and striking costumes, culminating in towering bonfires, fireworks, and the burning of effigies. It’s a fiery spectacle that captures Lewes’ enduring spirit of resistance and community pride.
